"K-M-A-S Radio, Christmas on the
Homefront"
Yet another great presentation
by
The story of K-M-A-S Radio
takes place at Christmas time in December 1944. Long-suffering Arthur
Kensington (Derek Ferree) finds himself in the midst of a battle to keep
his tiny station, K-M-A-S, on the air. He’s planned a special holiday
show with his eclectic staff of decidedly not-ready-for-prime time radio
players, including a dyslexic sound person (Julie Nelson), a
poetry/drama queen (Loran Massingale), and a pompous actor (Seth
Lesemann) who has written a new radio play retelling the Nativity as a
hard-boiled detective story. On top of that, everyone’s hopes are dashed
when an anticipated visit from the famous singing Andrews Sisters turns
out to be the not-so famous Epstein Cousins (Anna Oest and Arti Parikh).

In the midst of all the chaos,
we meet an Army hero (Blake Brown) who has lost his arm, and his
self-respect through his act of cowardice. Add in an impressionable
young man (Tyler Ferree) dreaming of war’s glory, a
lonely orphan boy (Ben Friedrich), and a young wife (Becky Sisson) whose
husband is missing in action, and we realize this special show is more
important than ever. |
