A 'Hero's Welcome' service is scheduled Thursday morning at Canton's Jones Park to honor the family of U.S. Army Private First Class Christopher Bartkiewicz, a 25-year-old Dunfermline soldier, husband and father of two who died in combat in Iraq Sept. 30. The Patriot Guard will escort the family into the park after getting PFC Bartkiewicz' body at the Peoria Airport. The Patriot Guard asks that anyone who wishes to support the family gather at the park by 10 a.m. with American flags and signs of support.
