Ducks Split With Elmwood

     The Ducks hosted Elmwood for Senior Night on Friday, February 20th and also their last home game of the season. There was lots of festivities including; the excitement of a packed house, some great music from Director Caton and his talented students, the presentation of all our seniors and their parents, the HJHS Cheer Squad joined the HHS Squad, our great Dance Team with a super halftime routine, and some great basketball.

    Game one with the JV game ended with the score of 55-58 in a very good game from both teams. The Varsity game was some good old fashioned basketball; hard, fast, and full of some great play. One particular thing I noticed in this game was something I really like to see in any sport. This game was filled with many hard, fast, and great plays both on a team and individual levels. Players were flying everywhere and when the occasional foul was called and a player/players ended up on the floor at the end of the play there was an extended hand from the opposing player. It's a small gesture but it's also a huge gesture in my book saying to your opponent, good job man, come on...let's do it again. Our Ducks took this game soundly as the final was 75-50. The Ducks look great going into the Regionals starting at Bushnell on Tuesday. All the best to our Varsity Ducks, it's been a great season for a great team, we are all very proud of you.
