Youth Programs

the best the Havana area has to offer
for our kids and their entire
families. Right now the biggest attraction is Winter Basketball and it
is a great example of all our Park District does. Basketball is only one
of the many quality programs and they are great programs. Instructional
sports with the dedication and hard work of the very qualified coaches
such as Bill Blessman, seen in action here in the game photos, will get
your child a great first step into a bright sports future. Sports is not
the only thing going on for both kids and adults; there are popular
dances, open gym events, volleyball, gymnastics, soccer, tumbling, TAE
KWON DO, a variety of adult fitness programs, and yes, even Latin dance
lessons.

As you can see above, I
dropped by the Park District Gym on Saturday morning and photographed
the first two games of an all day, area wide day of basketball. In the
first game it was Havana Vs. Astoria. Coach Bill Blessman had his team
ready for the game as they finished the game with a 34-0 shutout over
Astoria. The second game found Havana taking on Canton which found
Canton taking the win 19-5 over Havana.
