Beginning with 2009 visitors to 62644.com will be able to order professional grade high resolution photographs as an option to printing the low resolution images off the website. The price of these photographs are actually less than you can print the low resolution images off the website at home. These are professionally printed photograph on professional printing equipment on professional grade photographic paper and not a machine in the corner of a drug store.
Many of you have told me that they would like to have this option rather than trying to print them at home or take them elsewhere to be printed. Doing this represents a rather large investment of time and money on my part but hopefully this will provide you with a photographic option that will help you.
The two images here are from the same photograph and both are 5 x 7 inch images. The difference is that image at left has been prepared for use online in the same manner as all the photographs normally seen here on 62644.com. This photo has 72 dots per square inch. The image below is prepared for printing. It is actually smaller resolution than a normal printable image but online file size restrictions prohibit placing a full resolution image here. A normal image for printing would have 300 dots per square inch, the image below has 150 dpi but is still actually the same size as the image at left, 5 x 7 inches.
When I cover local events I will still place a selection of the event photographs on the website in the form of the low resolution image at left. I will also prepare high resolution images for printing and place them on my online photo center where samples are available now CLICK HERE. I will place a direct link to each event gallery where you can order prints or just view the photographs if you like.
